by Geoffrey Bull

Geoffrey T. Bull's book Love-Song in Harvest: an Interpretation of the Book of Ruth is written in a similar elegant literary style to his other well known books When Iron Gates Yield and Coral in the Sand.  This unusual and imaginative book combines elements of the literary short story genre with sound biblical exposition and personal insights.

My father particularly respected Geoffrey Bull's writing.  When I told him I was setting the story of Ruth to music as a wedding present for Cora, my wife-to-be, he suggested adapting the title of Bull's recently published 'Love-Song in Harvest: an Interpretation of the Book of Ruth' for my new composition.  Hence 'Lovesong in Harvest - Ruth: a love story that changed the world'

Although it's out of print, it's fairly easy to find a secondhand copy of Geoffrey Bull's book on-line.
